Wellington Cricket Club

Founded in 1947 with the aim of providing the best cricket facilities in the county for players of any age or ability, Wellington Cricket Club’s 50-year history has seen them go from strength to strength, progressing through the Birmingham league, before winning the premier division title in their first season in the division. In doing so, Wellington Cricket Club became the first Shropshire team to claim the title.

As well as having two teams in the Birmingham League, Wellington Cricket Club also play two teams in the Shropshire League. This spread of teams over a wide range means that Wellington can offer cricket to players of all ages and abilities and indeed new members of any ability are always welcome. 

The Wellington Cricket Club teams incorporate several members of Wastefile UK staff, and so the continued success of the team is particularly significant to the company. This is reflected in Wastefile UK continued sponsorship and support of the team.
