We're celebrating! Wastefile UK are 10 years old this month. Our first decade has seen many and far reaching changes within the waste management sector which have influenced the way our own business has developed and grown.

Looking back through the years, this is a brief history of Wastefile UK:

1994. Critical Resource is launched and Wastefile UK brand is created with the concept of single source, national skip hire. Call Centre opened in Telford.

1995. We are Britain's largest independent skip facilitator - a position we still hold.

As Environmental Protection Act is enforced, we compile and store compliance documentation on behalf of customers.

1996. We begin strategic waste management operations, initially for building/construction industry, in response to tightening legislative controls and rising costs of waste disposal.

1997. The brand grows. Wastefile UK is the largest part of Critical Resource's business.

1998. Critical Resource reaches £10m turnover. We begin waste management operations for industrial and commercial clients.

1999. Waste movements reach an average of 5000 per week. Technical services like contaminated land remediation is added to our business.

2000. Wastefile UK becomes the corporate brand for all operations.

2001. Wastefile UK widen waste management services for organisations across many industry sectors.

Landfill costs rising on government tax 'escalator'.

Wastefile UK introduce 'Recycling as First Option' concept.

2002. We introduce concept of 'industry specific site segregation systems'.

2003. We are the largest single waste management supplier to the house building industry.

2004. Today, with over 80 staff and ?30,000,000 revenue, we are still the largest independent skip hire company.

Our waste management operations now cover most sectors including: building construction, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, retail and leisure industries.

We create, develop and draw upon new technologies worldwide to reduce landfill and costs.

The Wastefile UK brand is now well known and respected throughout the industry and has become synonymous with both reliable, cost effective skip hire and forward thinking strategic waste management.
